Recruiter & HR Manager

  • Full-Time
  • In-Office — Los Angeles, CA
  • People
  • 5+ years

Summary

Guava's first in-house Recruiter & HR Manager — a recruiting-first role building out the revenue org (sales, customer success, field engineering), growing into Guava's lead HR presence (onboarding, people policies, great new-hire experience) as the company scales. A builder role.

What you'll do

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for the revenue org: Account Executives, Customer Success Reps, Forward Deployed Engineers.
  • Partner with revenue leadership to define role requirements and build sourcing strategies.
  • Proactively source via LinkedIn, job boards, outbound outreach, and referrals.
  • Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates — move quickly without sacrificing quality.
  • Manage and optimize candidate experience from first contact through offer and close.
  • Track recruiting metrics: pipeline health, time-to-fill, offer acceptance.
  • Serve as Guava's primary HR contact across the employment lifecycle.
  • Lead onboarding for all new hires — smooth, high-quality from day one.
  • Build and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and people programs reflecting Guava's values.
  • Partner with leadership on compensation benchmarking, performance processes, team structure.
  • Manage compliance with employment laws; maintain accurate records.
  • Identify and recommend HR tools, systems, and vendors for a scaling team.
  • Partner with immigration counsel on H-1B filings, including the LCA and Public Access File (PAF).

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years recruiting, with a track record closing GTM/revenue roles.
  • Success sourcing and hiring AEs, CSMs, FDEs, or similar GTM talent.
  • Startup/high-growth experience — built pipelines and processes, not just filled reqs.
  • Comfortable running the full lifecycle: sourcing, screening, coordinating, closing.
  • Some HR generalist experience / working knowledge of onboarding, HR policy, employment basics.
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-through; juggle multiple roles without dropping the ball.
  • Clear, direct communicator with strong interpersonal skills and genuine interest in people.
  • Based in or willing to commute to LA; full-time, in-office.
  • Familiar with H-1B processes, specifically the Labor Condition Application (LCA) and the Public Access File (PAF), since you'll work closely with our immigration counsel.

Nice to haves

  • Deeper HR generalist background: employee relations, comp benchmarking, performance, compliance.
  • B2B SaaS or AI company experience; ATS familiarity (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby).
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent; experience building onboarding/handbooks/DEI initiatives.
  • Familiarity with TriNet / Zenefits, the HRIS we use day to day.
